Intership Navigation Training Center, headed by Mr. Giovanni Tuapin and Capt. Robert De Jose, supported the 2014 National Maritime Week celebration and joined the 19^th Seafarers’ Day grand parade held last Sunday, September 28. This year’s theme was “Marinong Pilipino: Haligi ng Pagbabago” (Filipino Seafarer: Pillar of Innovation). 

During the parade,  ISNTC employees and Pre-Sea Cadets  marched from Raja Sulayman Park in Roxas Boulevard, Malate, Manila, then passed by  Adriatico St. and went straight to the Ninoy Aquino Stadium where the closing program was held.

Gracing the event was His Excellency Jejomar Binay, Vice-President of the Republic of the Philippines. In his speech, the Vice-President reiterated his support to the maritime industry and its efforts towards the Philippines passing the EMSA Audit. He also recognized the value of the maritime sector in the country’s economic progress.

The Ten (10) Most Outstanding Maritime Students of the Philippines in 2013 were also awarded during the ceremony. The event was attended by more than 5,000 participants composed of the different maritime institutions and industry supporters in the  Philippines.
