ISNTC-MDC Joins the Graphics and Publishing Seminar 2013

Mr. RJ Navarro and 3 key personnel of the ISNTC Multimedia Development Center attended the annual Graphics and Publishing Seminar held in Makati City, Philippines from 16 to 17 of April, 2013.

Mr. RV Merto, MDC Graphic Artist, attended the first day seminar focusing on the techniques of Photoshop CS6 – a powerful tool used by MDC in designing e-learning courses and banners, posters, etc. The resource speaker, Mr. Mario J. Ramirez - Instructor at PCCI, ACE and ACI, taught the powerful retouching and image manipulation. The basics of 3D and how to use the tools and techniques were also introduced plus more of its new functions for easy editing.

On the second day, Mr. RJ Navarro, MDC Supervisor attended the seminar. Newsletter and magazine design was the main focus of Mr. Guillermo Ramos, Instructor at PCCI and Principal Designer at Ige Ramos Design Studio. He discussed more about the fundamentals of magazines and newsletters, presented case studies on three major magazines in the country, and new industry updates. Pre-production, production, and post production stages of publishing a newsletter and magazine were also discussed.

Ms. Sarah Mae Baltazar, MDC Web Content Editor, attended the third day seminar. Resource speaker Mr. Antonio Bacu, Instructor at PCCI, ACE, ACI discussed the elements of design. The topic covers the design aspects of how element, color and typography can add visual impact and appeal to designs. Advanced illustrator techniques were also tackled which includes the newest and enhanced tools and how they give an already powerful application more punch.

On the last day, Ms. Carmina Santander, MDC Audio-Visual Technical Assistant who is basically in-charge with audio and video editing, attended the seminar on producing short video clips and animation for viral marketing. The speaker, Mr. Ronnie M. Millevo, Multimedia Specialist, Lecturer and Professor at DLSU-College of Saint Benilde taught how to combine photos, graphics, text, animation, sounds and videos to be shared and uploaded in social media pages, blogs and websites.

MDC is ISNTC’s creative arm responsible in the production and implementation of the Hartmann e-learning Program, the Hartmann News Worldwide (newsletter), and production of various marketing and advertising collaterals like corporate videos, banners, posters, etc. The 4-day seminar gave MDC the knowledge, skill, and technical upgrade needed for keeping its personnel abreast on the fast-changing technology.
