Our History


ISNTC, a member of the Hartmann Group, started as an in-house training center dedicated to train Filipino seafarers serving the Hartmann Fleet. Today, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, it now accepts trainees/seafarers from other companies all over the Philippines.


  • ISNTC was established as an in-house training center for Filipino seafarers serving the Hartmann Fleet. The center was located in Don Bosco compound in Tondo, Manila. Capt. Antonio Palenzuela serves as its first President and Training Director.

  • Graduation of the first batch of the ISNTC Pre-Sea Cadetship Program.
  • ISNTC moved to its new location in Malate, Manila.
  • ISNTC gained ISO 9001 certification from Germanischer Lloyd. 

    Capt. Teodoro Moro replaced Capt. Palenzuela as the new President and Training Director of ISNTC.

  • Inauguration of Engineering and Culinary Center Building (Practical Site 2)
  • Mr. Giovanni Tuapin and Capt. Robert De Jose appointed as the new ISNTC President and Training Director respectively.
  • Completion and inauguration of Ship Crane facility at Practical Site 3.
  • Completion and inauguration of Engine Workshop facility at Practical Site 3.
  • ISNTC became a member of the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI)
  • ISNTC celebrates its 20th Founding Anniversary.

  • Dr. Jeff Rex Calambuhay was appointed as the new ISNTC President.

    ISNTC certified by Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) as an Accredited Maritime Training Institution. The certification is valid for 10 years.
